Women’s Leadership at Reykjavik Global Forum
Excited to share the inspiring reflections of Olena Malynska, Co-founder of Women on Boards Ukraine, who participated at the esteemed Reykjavík Global Forum (RGF). The RGF serves as a powerful stage, uniting female leaders globally, creating a unique space for discussing pivotal issues, sharing personal experiences, and cultivating connections that transcend borders. The RGF is one of the most distinguished convenings globally which sets the agenda and we are proud that Olena participated at such an important event.
Olena emphasized the following insights: Political Landscape: Dr. Obiageli "Oby" Ezekwesili's wisdom echoes—current institutions no longer suffice to maintain order. The call for new leaders to shape the current order and bring forth innovative solutions is louder than ever.
Equal Representation: Research by Women Political Leaders (WPL) in collaboration with Oliver Wayman Forum underscores the correlation between equality at decision-making tables and economic stability. Yet, the question persists: Why is equal representation still elusive in decision-making rooms?
Perceptions on Leadership: Michelle Harrison's 2023 Reykjavik Index on Leadership uncovers alarming trends, particularly among the younger generation. The exploration begins: Where did it veer off course, and what corrective measures should be taken?
Board Rooms: Resonating with global CEOs advocating for gender diversity in boardrooms, the presented data and vibrant examples should leave no room for doubt. The imperative for a diverse and inclusive boardroom is crystal clear.
We draw inspiration from the connections forged, ideas exchanged, and express our confidence in witnessing a substantial representation of Ukrainian women in forums like RGF moving forward.
