Are women's networks the key to navigating crises and driving legislative change?
We hosted an event with WoBua, FidAR Frauen in die Aufsichtsräte e.V. and The Berlin School of Economics and Law, uniting female leaders from Ukraine and Germany. We explored how women’s networks provide vital support during crises and drive legislative progress.
We delved into the role of women’s networks in Germany, offering a platform for exchanging crucial international perspectives vital for navigating today's complex business landscape. Prof. Dr. Anja Seng, President of FidAR Frauen in die Aufsichtsräte e.V., highlighted three key factors that lead to progress in gender balance in top management: networking, transparency, and publicity.
Dr. Kirsten Soyke, Regional Director of FidAR Hanse, provided insights into the EU Directive on Promoting Positions for Women’s Networks in the EU.
Nina Dombrowska and Olena Malynska illustrated the impact of war in Ukraine on personal and business lives. Among the audience, there were questions about balancing war and life and the impact of war on the number of women in leadership roles.
Olena Malynska noted, "When we speak about Ukraine, we speak about crisis management. We didn't hear about experiences like we got in Ukraine. So we learned. First and foremost, clear communications and readiness for quick decision-making are the key factors that help us overcome crises."
Nina Dombrowska poignantly added, "These difficult times teach us to be human." This sentiment underscored the event, focusing on the profound impact of the ongoing war in Ukraine, as a war could be seen as the greatest crisis humanity faces today. Anja Seng highlighted that this is best time to promote female leadership.
Join us as we continue to drive forward the conversation on female leadership and the power of women’s networks in shaping a better future.
